Every friday I coach a basketball game for 5th and 6th graders at an elementary school in Tainan. The students there are so incredibly bright and awesome that it defies words sometimes. Anyways, it was my first time back there after the summer, and word got around that I was on the playground, so the students started running out to say hi to me, give me a hug, or make some jokes.

Except one.

One of my favorite students, Eugene, was in his mom’s car on the way home, when the car suddenly stopped, and the door flew open. Out of nowhere, there was Eugene running at me full speed. He stopped in front of me, looked me up and down without saying hello, shouted “The Twins SUCK The Yankees Are The BEST!!!” and then darted back into his mom’s car before I could say anything.

The great laws of karma strike again.
