I have an idea. The next time a major league baseball player wants to wear camouflage on the field, they enlist, and get to wear camouflage inthe field. After-all, during World Wars One and Two players served in the military, right? Back then it wasn’t necessary to play dress up, was it?
And another idea: why not just have every team play dress up? Maybe have one team dress up like policemen and another as firemen. One team can be truck drivers, another could be a cowboy. Then baseball could make “YMCA” the official song of MLB and host big dancing parties on the fields after games.
One step at a time, son. From Home Run Derby:
You see, on July 4, 2008, the White Sox will take the field against the Oakland A’s wearing camouflage jerseys.
Sox’ southpaw Mark Buehrle modelled the new White Sox’ fatigues at SoxFest this past weekend.
The rumor around last weekend’s SoxFest was that the camouflage uniforms were Buehrle’s idea and that he “requested” the Sox wear them as part of his contract negotiations last season. Buehrle had been pitching the idea to the White Sox’ marketing department about the idea for a few years.
