The runner up in the first season of the League of the Rising Sun, the Out of the Park Baseball league I play in, needs an owner. Anyone game? The team is the Niihama-shi Ghosts, who are based in Gifu and have a rabid fan base. It’s a good franchise that’s poised to compete every year. And, as you can see above, they have a pretty sick logo.
I’ve mentioned the league here a few times. Matt from 화이팅!: True Stories of Korean Baseball joined a couple months ago and runs the Seoul Crushers, who incidentally, are heading into a tough financial period due to a few overpriced players and are poised to be bad for years to come. Matt wasn’t familiar with OOTP before joining, but he’s picking it up fine.
The team has a creative writing element, which I think might appeal to readers of EWC. I have to admit, at this point I’m enjoying it quite a bit more than fantasy baseball. The game really does mirror real life baseball management — we’re having our Rule 5 draft tomorrow, and we’re doing an online winter meetings next week.
If you have any questions email me at eastwindupchronicle@gmail.com, or apply directly to the league here.

With any luck, I’ll be able to post a few of these ridiculous contracts I was saddled with. 15 effing million for a slightly above average left fielder. Thanks former owner. Thank you.

What exactly does the creative writing element entail? I may be interested in joining.

By writing articles and posting to the forum you get points that can be used toward improving your team. For me the writing part is kind fun, but there are people that either rarely do it or don’t do it at all.
The articles are posted on the league home page if you want to get a better idea…

I skimmed through the constitution on the website and while I didn’t fully comprehend everything, I’m sure I could get the hang of it.

There are a few others in the league that had never played OOTP before joining. It’s an intricate game, but not overwhelming.
If you’re up for it Marc contact the owner of the league through the homepage…www.pebabaseball.com
