Daniel Rios  pitched eight shutout innings and Lee Dae-soo  went 4-for-4 to lead No. 2 seed Doosan to an easy Game 1 win before a packed house at  Jamsil Stadium in Seoul.

The game was never really in question with Doosan scoring runs in each of the first two innings and Rios  pitching effectively from the start. In his eight innings of work Rios only threw just 91 pitches (58 for strikes), seemingly leaving the door open for relief appearances later in the series.

Hanwha’s vaunted middle of the  order, Kim Tae-gun, Jacob Cruz  and Lee Beum-ho  combined for a 1-for-11. Lee in particular looked overmatched, guessing wrong on several pitches,  weakly grounding out twice and striking out.

Yoo Hwan-sang  replaced Hanwha starter Choi Yeong-pil  in the  2nd inning, and kept  the Eagles close over the next four innings, but Doosan broke the game  open with three runs in both the 7th and 8th innings.

The series continues Monday with Matt Lander  (2.10 ERA vs. Hanwha in 25 2/3 inn during 2007) taking on Chung Min-chul  (3-1 vs. Doosan in 2007)
