In Japan the magic of Koshien has begun. Can I say that any Boston-based reporter worth their salt made the detour while in town? The Boston Herald did and in addition to a short essay on the scene the paper put up a nice accompanying photo essay that you’ll find to the right of the article.
The Daily Yomiuri will have reports in English each day, but if you want some really great coverage of Koshien head to Japanesebaseball.comwhere a few Koshienaphiles are doing thorough game reports.
Here are the updated brackets in Japanese and another article, concerning the selling of Babe Ruth-style hot dogs at Koshien, resuming after a a 74 year haiatus.
My favorite though is this Wittmanesque essay on Koshien penned by Thomas Dillon for the Japan Times. A very nice read.
