Anyone whose ever been to a non-traditional Korean wedding knows that while it may look like a Western-style wedding, it’s not. First and foremost, people are talking during the ceremony. There are always kids are running around, cell phones going off, and people even get up and leave (usually to hit the buffet) before the service is over.
This stuff usually drives foreigners nuts, but I’ve kind of gotten used to it and usually kick back and have a laugh about it.
But I’ve never seen anything like this. I can’t imagine this not being rude in any culture.
I’ve never been to a wedding in another part of Asia. Anyone pulling this kind of thing anywhere else? Check out the glare from the Dad. Like he wants to go “Scanners” on her.

Boy, you’re right on with your comments. Good thing it wasn’t your wedding, your mother might have embarrassed you. I loved that someone popped out and fixed the bride’s train after the lady dragged it into the pew!

I was at a wedding in Korea once and during the service a little kid got up and ran down the aisle screaming like it was a airport runway. Everyone just kind of laughed and thought it was cute. Even the groom turned around and laughed. I think everyone was trying to save some face. Thing is, they left the kid there for a while. Finally this mother comes running up to the front, smiling and all red in the face. Picks the brat up and goes back to her seat.

Gerenally speaking, Asian is polite in words but rude in behaviour especially in real life bacause we just don’t know the proper etiquette and some times just don’t care. Culture does not equivalent civilization, unfortunately. In almost every western city, Chinatown is usually the dirtiest place and people are generally rude. That was one of the reasons I chose to leave Asia.

I hope this gets picked up by some advertising agency, and then gets made into a commercial promoting some sort of pharmaceutical or other. Then I hope this commercial catches the attention of the Korean population at large, which in turn might then start to think twice before rushing headlong here and there. And no, never mind all of the well behaved folks sitting down and waiting patiently. That’s to be expected. It’s a wedding after all, not a fish market.

“It’s a wedding after all, not a fish market.”
LOL. I’m not so sure.
