For no particular reason Sports Chosun published some great photography from last night’s games. The Jose Lima pic above obviously needed its own post, but there were several others that warrant a view.
There was an amazing sky last night in Korea — I even stopped to take a couple photos with my phone, something I do once every neverdone. I’m glad someone at the ball field took notice.
At the Samsung/Hanwha game in Daegu.
Kia submariner Yoo Dong-hoon. Having a very nice year out of the bullpen for Kia.
The new Garcia chant is the greatest –
Ga-ga-ga-ga-GarciaGarciaGarciaGarciaGarciaGarciaGarciaGarcia…
It’s quite monotone and absract. As of now each starter on the Lotte Giants is the leading all-star vote getter at their respective position.
This is Jung Chan-hun an 18-year-old second round pick out of Gwangju Jae-il High School. He’s got very good stuff and was solid out of the bullpen during April (2.63 ERA 1.46 WHIP 7.90 K/9), but in May he was put in the starting rotation. He’s been awful since and his ERA is now 5.01.
My guess is that he threw a lot last year and his arm is already tired. He’s going to be a great pitcher. Hopefully LG will shut him down early.

I think it’s fair to say that the East all-star team will be dominated by players by Lotte and SK. Doosan will sneak a couple in and Samsung will be lucky to get anyone at all - Oh Seung-hwan as closer maybe?

Every year the Hall of Fame Library hosts an exhibition of the year’s best MLB photography, and they go crazy for nice sky shots like that.
