I came across this on startdrawing.org, a site dedicated to Asian artists and illustrators. The artist is Julienne Hsu, who is originally from Kaohsuing, Taiwan and currently lives in Upland, California.
It’s winter now in my part of the world and while there’s no snow this seemed appropriate. This reminds me of a time I was driving cross country. I stayed the night in Deadwood, South Dakota, woke up at 3 a.m. the next morning thinking it was nearly 6 a.m. I went the wrong way and ended up back in Northern Wyoming in a snowstorm.
It was still dark and there was no light of any kind. Just my headlights. I followed the tracks of a deisel truck, until I finally saw a sign for a city – Four Corners.
But when I arrived in Four Corners, it was just that. Two intersecting streets. No gas station, no nothing. I just sat there at the stop sign, the snow still falling around my car.
