Japan Series: Dragons Stuff Ham Fighters, Take 2-1 Lead

October 30th, 2007 Shinsano · No Comments

In the first inning of Tuesday’s contest the Chunichi Dragons rapped out seven straight hits leading to seven runs to put Game 3 away quickly and take a 2-1 lead in the Japan Series.

The 9-1 tally was one better than Game 2 and suddenly Trey Hillman’s Nippon Ham Fighters are looking punchless outside of Darvishland.

Tyrone Woods started the onslaught with a single up the middle to plate the first run of the game. By the time the inning was over Hillman had made three pitching changes, the first being starter Masaru Takeda, who ended the night having given up five runs.

Chunichi starter Kenta Asakura picked up the win scattering eight hits over seven innings, allowing the Fighters single run.
