From the Yomiuri Online via Pink Tentacle. This is a photo of a new Olympic-themed statue found in Beijing. The statues depict five Mickey Mouse-like characters engaging in Olympic sports. You may have heard about the controversy surrounding a bunch of knock-off Disney characters at Beijing’s Shijingshan Amusement Park. Well, guess what? This ain’t Mickey either.
When asked about the resemblance to Mickey, a spokesperson quoted in the article says “They have square holes in their ears. They are not copies.”
