Slot in a Suitcase

August 14th, 2009 Shinsano · 2 Comments

Funny little story via Korea Beat, about a gambling ring in Korea using portable slot machines.

A member of the police said, “recently there have been a lot of these machines, which can be carried around in a James Bond-style case or disguised as furniture… It’s very difficult for us to catch them.”

In the Chungcheongbuk-do area there have been 1,150 cases of illegal gambling discovered through this month. That is drawing near the 1,190 discovered in all of 2008.

I’ve recently seen an increase in “adult” PC rooms, which have things that look like video slots, or are at least video Go-Stop games. Some of the rooms also advertise “chatting services.”

which can be carried around in a James Bond-style case or disguised as furniture…

The case looks like for you James Bond buffs out there the deadly case Q gives 007 in “From Russia With Love”. Just had to point that out.

So, let me get this straight…there have been 1,150 CASES of illegal gambling? They got an evidence room or a file cabinet big enough for all of those CASES?
