Nate Silver, who developed the famous PECOTA system of player projections at Baseball Prospectus has applied his skills to projecting the U.S. political races on a blog called FiveThirtyEight. For those who read BP you already know this because he’s taken a leave of absence in order to do it. My guess is his data is better than anything you’ll see on the news, since his is a distillation of all the other sources. He currently has Obama comfortably ahead in the electoral college.

I listened to the top story on the On The Media page, entitled Kiss Off. Just hearing sound bytes of the various CNN, Today, MSNBC talking heads covering the election made my blood curdle. I have to say I’m glad I’m not around it.
