Behind solid pitching and good defense the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters kept things close before exploding for six runs in the 7th inning to take Game 3 of the Pacific League Climax Series.

The Fighters 7th featured consecutive RBI doubles by Hichori Morimoto, Kensuke Tanaka and Atsunori Inaba, topped off by a bases-clearning triple by Takahito Kudo. The inning opened up what what otherwise a pitching duel between the home team’s Ryan Glynn and the Chiba Lotte’s Shunuske Watanabe.

Glynn finished the game with the win through seven innings and was followed by Hisashi Takeda in the eighth and closer Micheal Nakamura  in the ninth.

The Chiba Lotte Marines will look to put the defeat behind them and  avoid elimination Tuesday night with their ace Yoshihisa Naruse  on the hill. Yu Darvish awaits in the wings for a possible Game 5 matchup.
