As most anyone who follows Korean baseball will tell you there’s nothing like a Lotte Giants baseball game in Busan. If you’ve never been, you’re missing out on a crucial Korean cultural experience. With that in mind, here’s an invitation to the first annual ê³—ë‚ , which in Korean is a kind of periodic friend meeting.
Next Saturday (June 7) Lotte is hosting the champion SK Wyvrens. The game starts at 4:30 at Sajik Stadium in Busan. The plan is to meet early — around 2:30 p.m. Tickets are general admission so we have to claim our space early. I’m going to provide the beer and makoli (no container laws inside Korean baseball stadiums).
Matt from í™”ì´íŒ…!: True Stories of Korean Baseball is coming, as is Dan from the myKBO forum, who happens to be in town. Mrs. Shinsano will be there and so will my longtime friend Jon from Seoul who doesn’t even like baseball.
If you want to come email me at eastwindupchronicle@gmail.com and let me know. That way I can be sure to account for your belly when I buy the brew (to the extent that Hite can be dubbed “a brew”) and makoli Saturday morning.

I’d love to go to this, especially since I have a good Korean buddy who lives in Busan and is an avid Giants fan, but alas I already have plans to go to Daejeon where I might take in a Hanhwa vs Woori game (a somewhat less enticing affair.) Sajik is definitely on my hitlist of ’stadiums to visit before the season is finished and I realise that I haven’t actually travelled anywhere yet’, though.
