I like the idea behind this article on Project Prospect called Deep Dynasty Fishing: 12 names to follow…
If you’re like me, you don’t consider it real fantasy baseball unless Jason Neighborgall is owned by someone in your league. Well, given Neighborgall’s recent retirement announcement, that may be going too far. But I’m talking about 16-20 team, 30-40 man roster Dynasty leagues where getting the first jump on a young, up-and-coming prospect could potentially boost your team to championships galore.
Wish I’d seen this before our Kingman (a league similar to what the writer is talking about above) draft. All the top guys (Bruce, Longoria, Rasmus) were gone early and I was left scrambling for deep sleepers already in the league, like, errr, Jayson Nix (hitting .161 at last check).
But what really caught my eye here is the fact that Rhee Dae-eun made the list. Looks like the word is getting out. Sure, his is a small sample size, but certainly an impressive one.
Also on the list is Yohermyn Chavez, a 17-year-old who was signed out of Venezuela last year by the Blue Jays, and Ivan DeJesus’s son, who goes by the same name.
