1. Tong-Yi Lions (17-7-0): The Tong Yi-Lions remain the team to beat in the CPBL so far this season, leading the La New Bears by 2 1/2 games with a 17-7-0 record. Starting pitcher Pan Wei-Lun (3-0, 0.50 E.R.A) and former Anaheim Angels/Cleveland Indians starter Lou Pote (3-0, 2.60) lead the Lions pitching staff, while 1B Kao Guo-Ching leads the team offensively with a .380 average, 27 RBI and 23 runs scored through 24 games.
2. La New Bears (14-9-1): The Bears continue to play second fiddle to the Lions, trailing by 2.5 games. Leading his team in Wins and non-descript names, foreign hurler Mike Johnson is 5-0 with a 4.05 E.R.A. Center Fielder Huang Luong-Yi is hitting .346 with 16 RBI and 14 Runs. Catcher and official CPBL player of EWC Chen Feng-Ming’s average is finding its way back to expected levels after a hot start, dropping to .266. Don’t tell him this, but my wife and I have a bet about his final batting average this season–I get 10 NTD per every point below .230 he hits, while my wife gets 10 NT for every point above.
3. Chinatrust Whales (11-13-0): Pitching struggles are the name of the game for the Whales. Funky lefthander Ni Fu-Te’s season has improved upon a slow start but still sports a 2-3 record with a 4.93 E.R.A. Former San Diego Padres Pitcher Steve Watkins has been solid, 2-2 with a 2.78 E.R.A. Colombian expat Carlos Villalobos is hitting .295 with 17 RBI and 14 runs.
4. Brother Elephants: (10-13-1): Starter Liao Yu-Cheung (4-1, 3.93) and former Blue Jays prospect Danny Core (2-0 1.63) lead an otherwise struggling pitching staff for the Elephants. Pride of Yunlin County DH Chen Guan-Ren is batting .381 with 22 runs scored, and bearded basher/Su Su Bao Gan medicine commercial star Chen Zhi-Yan is raking to the tune of .337 with 24 runs and 19 RBI.
5. Media T-Rex (9-14-1): Starter Lan Jin-Nan is 5-2 despite a less than sexy 4.79 E.R.A. 1B Wang Chuan-Jia is hitting .353 with 18 RBI. Outfielder Jo Si-Chi is hitting .342 with 17 runs scored. If someone can provide a better spelling of this name please let me know.
6. Sinon Bulls (9-14-1). Pitcher Yu Wen-Bing leads a sputtering pitching staff with a 2-0 record and 2.84 E.R.A, while 3B Chen Zi-Wei leads the offensive attack with a .315 average and 16 RBI. National Team hero SP Yang Chien-Fu continues to struggle, posting a 6.18 E.R.A and a 1-3 record.

hate to say this, but i think your wife will win about 150-200 nt.
i think there is no doubt that it’ll be between the lions and the bears for the title this year. i still think the bears will be able to keep pace with the lions and even possibly win the pennant. cfc is heating up and lin will be back soon.
