Chen Yung-Chi from Taiwan was rewarded for a solid Arizona Fall League by being added to the Seattle Mariners 40-man roster.

Chen, who played in only five games during the regular season because of shoulder injury, hit .339 in 17 games with the Peoria Javelinas with one home run and 12 RBIs. He was selected as one of the 10 biggest surprises in the AFL this season.

Here’s an extended profile of Chen via Taiwan Baseball.

Jung Sung-ki, a Javelinas teammate of Chen, didn’t post such impressive numbers, but wasn’t a total wash, compiling a 3.97 ERA over 11 1/3 innings. You can find the rest of his line in the AFL here.
