According to an AP article, former Yankee Irabu Hideki was arrested for a drunken meltdown in a bar in Osaka.   The portly hurler–20 beers into the evening, according to sources– assaulted a bartender and smashed nine bottles of alcohol after the bar rejected his credit card.     He apparently paid with a different card afterwards.

Meanwhile, rocker/poster boy for creepy child-sex tourism Gary Glitter’s three-year contract with Vietnam’s Thu Duc prison team came to an end Tuesday, culminating in his deportation back to England.   Glitter now has the dubious distinction of being banned from both Vietnam and Cambodia, no easy feat when you consider what kinds of illicit activities occur regularly within those countries.

Glitter, described as a “free man” by his lawyer Le Than Kinh, apparently could not refuse the sweet siren song of Southeast Asia, and refused to board his return flight to England departing from Bangkok Airport.

Ethical Traveler, a non-profit group, has begun a campaign in Cambodia to fight sex trafficking.   You can sign a letter addressed to the Cambodia government urging strict enforcement of child-sex laws and crackdowns on estabishments where it occus here.

Irabu’s done that before, while he was a member of the now relocated Ottawa Lynx AAA club when they were visiting Buffalo.

I wonder where Irabu would hang out in Buffalo.

And the real issue is what other website brings you Hideki Irabu and Gary Glitter in the same news story? Tell me one.
