Typically, I have about as much interest in what goes on in a baseball team’s clubhouse as I do celebrity bedrooms, but this is a pretty funny and elaborate prank pulled off by the Phillies at the expense of pitcher Kyle Kendrick.
At the beginning of the video Kendrick — who’s in line for a pretty big role on the team this year — is told by manager Charlie Manuel that he’s been traded to a Japanese team. Myers and Co. even went as far as to compose an offical-looking memo on team letterhead.
I think the only thing that might have been funnier is if Myers had punched Kendrick in the face and called him a “bitch” at the end. But this is still pretty hilarious.

Not to be a spoilsport, but i could swear Kendrick knows the joke by the end. Check out the edit toward the end and the way he’s smiling.

I think it’s interesting how much coverage this thing is getting in the US sports media…I’ve seen it on ESPN and it’s one of the top stories on yahoo.
