A runner scoring from first on a strike out, a home run by a guy who’s hit two during his entire career, and a bench clearing staredown were all part of the action tonight as Doosan took a 2-0 advantage in it’s second round matchup with No. 3 seed Hanwha.
Matt Landers allowed two runs over six innings to pick up the win. Landers wasn’t dominant, often working late into counts, as his 111 pitches in six innings would indicate, but he he got out of several jams and prevented the heart of Hanwha’s lineup from doing any major damage.
Doosan had the benefit of a couple of home runs from unexpected sources as leadoff hitter Lee Jeong-ok hit just his third in two years and Kim Hyun-su hit his sixth in the same span. Lee was named MVP of the game, going 2-for-4 with 3 RBI.

Lee Jeong-ok–as surprised as anyone
Wednesday’s Game 3 action will move to Daejeon where the Eagles are expected to turn to 20-year-old phenom Ryu Hyeon-jin in an attempt to slow down the Bears.
