Yesterday I did an interview with Cubscast, which is a long-running podcast about Chicago’s favorite sons. We talk about what I do in Korea, East Windup Chronicle and it’s origins, my new crock pot, and the fact that I grew up a Reds fan but now pledge heart-felt allegiance to the Cubs. You can find the show on the Cubscast site in the right sidebar.
I listen to three daily or almost daily baseball podcasts, Cubscast being one. I also listen to the Baseball Prospectus Radio, which today has a great edition called Down on the Farm, for which David Laurila interviews Leon Boyd, the closer for the Dutch national team, who was signed by the Blue Jays shortly after the WBC. Also interviewed is Giants prospect Brian Bocock, who due to injury was the starting shortstop for the big league team last season, but is now back on his regular development schedule in Double-A. Interesting juxtaposition there.
The other cast is RotoWire’s Fantasy Focus hosted by Jeff Erickson. An hour long fantasy baseball show every day? Well, kind of. For me, it’s just a nice, low-key sports talk show hosted by a guy who doesn’t yell and doesn’t have a big ego. He’s usually got great guests, last night’s show featured Scott Pianowski from Yahoo! Fantasy Sports and Michael Salfino, who does freelance fantasy baseball writing (and other kinds of sports writing).

“Chicago’s favorite sons”
I just sprayed coffee all over my computer screen. Sometimes I think you want to hurt my feelings.

Finally listened to the interview. It was pretty good. Except it was with some other Korea-based scout named Aaron. Strange.
It’s always a thrill to hear Chicago Cubs fans talk about the one thing that fascinates them the most: Being a Chicago Cubs fan.

I guess you wanted to wait until you had time to sit down with a cigar and cognac. I can understand.
You’re kind of right about Cubs fans. I sort of feel that way too. I never felt that about being a Reds fan.
