Sorry for the lack of KBO updates and rankings. First, as I’ve mentioned several times I was in the U.S. But secondly is the fact that inning.co.kr, the homegrown KBO stats site I use, has been down for a few weeks. According to the site things should be up and running on July 31, which will coincide nicely with the end of the first half. I’ll do some rankings and analysis at that point.

The photo above is Jung Soo-keun, the former Lotte Giants team captain who was arrested in mid July for beating up a security guard. He was suspended indefinitely by the league. Yesterday an article in Sports Seoul helped Jung express his great sadness for what happened. He’s currently helping coach at his high school alma mater in Masan. Jung says he’d like to come back, but also believes he’s been fairly punished.

The Giants lost four of the first five games without Jung, but did manage to take a weekend series from Hanwha. The team is is currently tied for fourth place with Samsung.
