I have a couple posts over at Tim Dierkes’ MLB Trade Rumors if you’re interested. Pretty straightforward stuff for my first stab at blogging for 1 trillion daily readers — a he said/they said item concerning the Padres inability to resign Mike Cameron over the winter, and a second bit about how the Brad Hawpe signing affects the future fates of Matt Holiday and Garret Atkins.
Fortunately I didn’t get too lit up in the comments section. One guy complained that the Cameron piece wasn’t very newsworthy, but I can accept that. It was my first attempt. I just wanted to avoid getting called out by Peter Gammons or a team GM. I seem to have managed that.
I’d actually like to recommend the post between my two, which is about Brian Bannister doing a regular mailbag thing for MLB.com. If you haven’t read Tim’s interview with Bannister I urge you to do so. Far from the typical athlete interview, Bannister provided some insights into pitching you just won’t see other places.

Welcome aboard Aaron! Regarding the Cameron comment…you should blame me for suggesting you write on the topic! But I found it interesting, so don’t worry about whether some random dude finds it newsworthy. I deleted his comment, it added nothing.

So I was reading MLBTR, and noticed the sender’s name was “Shinsano”. I thought to myself, Hey! That guy has the same name as the guy over at East Windup. Maybe they know each other!
And lo and behold…
Great work man & Good Luck.

Seems like the Colorado piece has a little fire under it.
Congrats.

Yeah, Aaron congrats. You should celebrate by simply starting unfounded rumors for your own amusement, like a fictitious B.J. Upton for Coco Crisp trade rumor or something like that.
