California Assemblywoman Fiona Ma is pushing for a proof-of-consent bill for an art exhibit displaying body parts she believes are Chinese corpses being used without consent.
Ma says as she toured the exhibit she became disgusted when she saw the posed and preserved remains of Chinese corpses, their flesh removed to expose their organs, muscle, sinew and veins.
The corpses are part of Body Worlds 2 an exhibition currently showing at the San Jose Museum of Tech Innovation.
“All the bodies are clearly Chinese,” Ma said Tuesday in an interview. “To see these plastinized individuals dismantled in various stages, for display in a commercial setting for profit, really disgusted me as an Asian.”
The permanent collection is found in Germany. Surprise!
