A bad season gets worse

September 15th, 2007 Shinsano · No Comments

In pitching for the last place Kia Tigers this year pitcher Yoon Suk-min has accumulated 17 losses.

But in a Sept. 11 start  against  the Hanhwa Eagles Yoon  entered the record books with  a most dubious  distinction. He  hit the first three batters he faced.

Surprisingly Yoon is not nearly as bad as his record(s) would indicate. He’s won seven games against the 17 losses and  is 10th in the league in ERA at 3.66.

The high number of losses is partly a reflection of the Tigers offense, which is by far the worst in the league. Yoon is only 21 and is viewed as one of the Tigers top pitching prospects.

“I am sure this will help me get better next year,”  he told reporters after the game.
