World Cup: Cuba Narrowly Escapes in 12 Innings, Team USA Blanks Mexico 3-0

Down to  its final  strike, Cuba’s Frederich Cepeda Cruz  (pictured above) hit a game tying  home run over the left field fence to send its opening game with Australia into  extra innings.  Osmani Urrutia  followed in the 12th with another big fly to give Cuba a  narrow 3-2 victory.

IBAF 37th World Cup Site Up and Rolling

After a few delays the official IBAF site for the 37th World Cup is up and running. When you go to the site you’ll  see  summaries of the recent Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese series’  written by your  East Windup Chronicle hosts Aaron Shinsano  and Jackson Broder.

Team Canada: Young, Hungry, Canadian

Team Canada will kick off  its quest for the  IBAF World Cup tonight in a matchup with the Korean team. Its roster is filled mostly with MLB Class-A and AA players.  Put them in the second tier of teams, along with a very young Japanese  squad and the Koreans.  Canada could  very well challenge.
